Florida Cattle Ranchers Committed to Conservation
| | Cattlemans Square | |
Cattle ranchers use tracks of land that are saved from development due to their agricultural uses. The water that ranchers use from Florida's aquafer stays on the land. Most of the wild spaces, cattle ranchers preserve habitats for Florida's wild animals To protect these undeveloped spaces for the future, many Florida cattle producers are utilizing conservation easements.
Birds and other wildlife thrive on lands used for cattle production. As caretakers of thousands of acres of grazing pastures, Florida cattle ranchers are natural stewards of the land. They know the land must be protected and preserved for the generations that follow. Rancher's deep love of the land is perhaps because they spend so much time observing wildlife and nature, and enjoying its incredible beauty. They understand how fragile Florida's natural ecosystems are. How they choose to run ranches and manage the land makes a difference in the lives of the wildlife we share it with. It also makes a difference in our state's natural resources and conservation efforts. As "Stewards of the Land", Florida cattle ranchers are continually committed to land sustainability. Partnering with state, local and national environmental agencies to monitor land, water and wildlife to make improvements to the environment. Lastly, they take care of the land because it helps them do what they love ranching.
