Harley Man
Livingston, Illinois

While indoors, this smaller (14") statue was wearing a dark blue button-up shirt (with a "Hank" name patch) and gray trousers. Now painted as a tribute to Harley Davidson, he stands outside proudly for drive-by perusal from the interstate in 2010.

Left Field Louie
Joliet, Illinois

After every home run slugged by the Joliet JackHammers, Louie emitted smoke and jackhammer sounds, complemented by strobes and stoplights. He was taken down when the team changed names to the "Slammers" in 2011.

The Bunyon Giant
Atlanta, Illinois

Originally placed in the town of Cicero, IL at Hamlet Stephens' meat-focused drive-in restaurant named "Bunyon's " for nearly 40 years. He now stands on Arch St. in Atlanta since 2003 on "forever loan" from the Stephens family.

Gemini Giant
Wilmington, Illinois

In 1965, John Korelc paid $3,500 for a 24-foot-tall astronaut, which he stood outside his Launching Pad drive-in restaurant. International Fiberglass made at least two others from the same mold, but the Gemini Giant is the only

known survivor.

Southeast Spartan
Springfield, Illinois

A donated "Carpet Viking" has been modified into the Southeast High School mascot. Cutting off the original braids, removing the horns, a new paint job and adding a sword, made this the perfect Mediterranean warrior.

The Guardian
Evergreen Park, Illinois

He once stood atop an auto body repair shop, with his shirt painted a shiny candy apple red and pants in metallic auto body paint. For a time he even held a large hockey stick in support of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Lauterbach Man
Springfield, Illinois

First purchased in 1961, and moving a few times, the now flag-carrying giant has been standing since 1978. In 2006, the Muffler Man lost his head during a tornado, but was skillfully repaired by the station. "Drive safely now."

Frankenmuffler Man
Burbank, Illinois

This "Frankenstein's Monster" has been towering over a miniature golf course and batting cage at Haunted Trails since at least 1977. This extremely modified version is a unique example of how Muffler Men have been used as creative advertising.

Uniroyal Gal
Livingston, Illinois

giantess was first reported as a hazard at a mini golf in Chincoteague, VA in the 1980s. She then moved to Kingsville, MD at Huber's Farms in the 90s and moved again to Illinois in 2015 where she was restored in 2017.

Carl's Soda Jerk
Normal, Illinois

A 15-ft. tall "Muffler Man", modeled after an original international Fiberglass version, manufactured by Virginia fiberglass artist Mark Cline, of Enchanted Castle Studios.

The Brave of Pulaski Rd
Chicago, Illinois

Despite many modifications over the years, this towering barrel-chested caricature of a Native American male was most memorable for its glasses and piercing eyes.
