Aloe vera is known for its wide variety of majestic natural powers. Native to North Africa, this plant is commonly referred to as the First Aid Plant. Aloe vera can be traced back 6,000 years to Egypt where it was known as the "plant of immortality." It is often depicted in stone carvings and presented as funeral gifts to dead pharaohs.
The clear gel and the yellow latex are primarily used medicinally in topical and oral products. Aloe vera has the ability to aid in digestion, serving as a natural laxative. Aloe vera is also used as a topical treatment for skin burns, cold sores, frostbite and psoriasis.
