[Français] En 1992, à l'occasion du 350^e anniversaire de la fondation de la ville de Montréal, le Vieux-Port voit à l'aménagement du Pavillon Jacques-Cartier et de l'île Bonsecours. On peut également apprécier les longues rangées d'arbres sur le Quai de l'Horloge qui mènent au bout de la Tour, évoquant les hangars d'une autre époque.

Les structures d'acier sur le Quai Jacques-Cartier évoquent l'ossature particulière des hangars d'autrefois.

Dans les années 1980, on entreprend des travaux qui transforment la vocation du site.

De 1982 à 1984, le parc linéaire est aménagé le long de la rue de la Commune. On enlève pour l'occasion six des huit voies ferrées qui s'y trouvent.

[English] In 1992, as part of the celebrations to mark Montreal's 350th anniversary, the Old Port undertook the new development of the Jacques Cartier Pavilion and Bonsecours Island. The string of trees that were planted along the length of Clock Tower Pier harken back to the hangars that once stood there.

The steel structures on Jacques Cartier Pier recall the distinctive frames of the hangars that once existed on the site.

In the 1980s, work was undertaken and the Old Port's vocation was transformed.

From 1982 to 1984, a linear park was developed along De la Commune Street. Six of the site's eight railroad tracks were removed as part of this project.
