1. West Side Road Marker
Eagle Borax Works, 28 miles (45 km):
This was the first borax refinery in Death Valley. It operated for only two years, closing in 1884 after refining 150 tons of relatively low-grade borax.
Dayton-Harris Graves, 29 miles (46 km):
The graves of good friends Jim Dayton and Shorty Harris. Dayton died in 1899, Harris in 1934. These legendary characters are buried next to each other "in the valley we loved."
