1. One Farm Family’s Fight Marker

Inscription. In this small farmhouse, the Teal family heard shots ring out around them. As bullets struck the house, the young women and children escaped through the back door. They ran to the nearby marsh for protection, where neighbours and friends were hiding.

Phebe Teal, a widow and the matriarch of the household stayed with the men to defend her farm and garden.
