Las plazas integradas en el diseño arquitectónico de este pueblo eran el foco de muchas actividades diarias a lo largo del año. Cerca de los bloques de cuartos quizas había corrales de pavos, criados como fuente de plumas y comida para los hogares. Los perros corrían sueltos, buscaban restos de comida y jugaban con los niños que se dirigían a sus quehaéres diarios. Las mujeres molían el maíz y cocinaban bajo ramadas que las protegían del sol. Se podía ver a hombres y mujeres tejiendo y fabricando la cerámica ya que estos objetos eran necesarios para el uso diario y ceremonial. También se les podían ver enjarrando de nuevo las paredes con barro para impedir la erosión por las lluvias.

Coronado Historic Site and the ancient Kuaua Pueblo are located just minutes north of Albuquerque (off of I-25, Exit 242) in Bernalillo. In 1540, Francisco Vásquez de Coronado—with 500 soldiers and 2,000 Indigenous allies from New Spain—entered the Rio Grande valley somewhere near this site.
