1. Princess Margriet's Christening/Le baptéme de la princesse Margriet Marker
Princess Margriet's baptism, on June 29, 1943, was a joyful occasion. That morning, Princess Juliana had picked a large spray of marguerite daisies, which decorated the high pulpit in the church. The congregation included important figures from Allied countries. Margriet had many godparents, including U.S. President Roosevelt and seven members of the Dutch merchant navy. The ceremony was illegally broadcast on the radio in the Netherlands, providing a spark of hope to the Dutch people.

Le baptême de la princesse Margriet, le 29 juin 1943, a été un évènement joyeux. Ce matin-là, la princesse Juliana avait cueilli le gros bouquet de marguerites qui fleurissait la haute chaire de l'église. L'assemblée réunissait d'importantes figures des pays alliés. Margriet avait beaucoup de parrains et marraines, y compris le président américain Roosevelt et sept membres de la marine marchande néerlandaise. La cérémonie a été radiodiffusée illégalement aux Pays-Bas, donnant une étincelle d'espoir au peuple néerlandais.
