1. Tyler Gate Marker
Inscription. Over the past century, millions of music lovers have passed through this historic gate. Today, this gate and the Martin Theatre are the only structures from Ravinia's original 1904 construction still standing in the park.

Location. 42° 9.302′ N, 87° 46.777′ W. Marker is in Highland Park, Illinois, in Lake County. It can be reached from the intersection of Ravinia Park Road and Green Bay Road, on the right when traveling north. The historic Tyler Gate at Ravinia is on the west side of this outdoor music venue. It is just to the east of the Metra Union Pacific North Railroad Ravinia Park train station. Visitors can alight at this station to enter through the historic Tyler Gate for Ravinia concerts and other performances. There is no public road at this entrance. Touch for map. and it is also the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The Martin Theatre directly behind the gate is an indoor venue that is the other structure on the grounds that dates from 1904.
