Inscription.
The two buildings located here may have been separate units thought to be a visiting officer's quarters and commandant's house, or they may have been a commandant's house with an extension. In any case, artifacts recovered during excavation of these buildings were those typically found in upper class homes.

• These straight pins were not used for sewing; rather, they were used by officers to hold documents together, similar to a paper clip or staple today.
• These pistol flints and pistol balls likely belonged to officers, considering that lower-ranking soldiers were usually supplied with muskets that used larger lead balls and flints.
• During the early 1800s, hand-painted ceramics were much cheaper than those that were industrially printed and produced. Although some hand-painted ceramics were found in the officers' quarters, a much larger proportion of expensive printed ceramics were recovered likely belonging to wealthier, upper class officers.
