1. Air Raid Siren Marker

Inscription. Installed in the late 1950's, this Biersach and Niedermeyer (B&N) Mobil Directo air raid siren once rotated and was meant to alert the community to an incoming nuclear attack from the Communist nations during the Cold War era. Others were located around the city, connected to a national grid operated by the Federal Government. All others in the city were dismantled by the Hydro Commission in the 1980's. Only this one in Kernahan Park remains.
