Inscription. In grateful recognition of Walter A. Rentschler whose interest in and love for this area and its natural and historical features has resulted in Miami-Erie Canal/Rentschler Forest Preserve, now encompassing 226 acres. He personally donated 143 acres and provided additional support in many ways to enable the Butler County Park District to enlarge and develop this park preserve for the enjoyment of the present and future generations of Butler County.
 
Erected 1984 by Board Of Park Commissioners Butler County Park District.
