Regnbueplassen skal synligjøre Oslos skeive historie og være et tydelig symbol på det mangfoldige Oslo. Denne plassen er en annerkjennelse av det store kjønns- og seksualitetsmangfoldet i byen vår.
Regnbueplassen ble åpnet 21. april 2022 på 50-årsdagen for Stortingets avkriminalisering av homofili i 1972.
Vedtak om en Regnbueplass i Oslo sentrum ble gjort av Oslo bystyre 22. april 2020.
Welcome to Rainbow Square
The purpose of Regnbueplassen is to highlight Oslo's queer history and be a clear symbol of a diverse Oslo. This space is a recognition of the great gender and sexual diversity in our city.
Rainbow Square was opened on April 21, 2022, on the 50th anniversary of the Storting's decriminalization of homosexuality in 1972.
The decision to establish a Rainbow Square in central Oslo was made by the Oslo City Council on April 22, 2020.

As the sound of "Over the Rainbow" poured out from the City Hall bells, Oslo's new rainbow plaza was officially declared open. It takes place on the day 50 years after the Storting decriminalized homosexuality.
