1. Mabel Race Norton (1878-1962) Marker

Inscription. Campaigned for child welfare, the rights of mothers, the disabled and working women. A 'Yorkshire Auntie' who mobilised the billeting of over one thousand child evacuees from the London Blitz. Mabel created the first banner for the former Diocese of Wakefield's Mothers' Union where she was also secretary for over 50 years.
