Inscription.
Southern arrowwood is the most common native viburnum in the Font. The durable wood of this member of the honeysuckle family was in Native Americans to make arrow shafts. In fall the fruits are eaten by birds, chipmunks, and other small mammals.

The viburnum leaf beetle is a threat to southern arrowwood and its close relatives. This Asian invasive inlet consumes the leaves for food. As a result, many of the southern arrowwoods in the Forest have boles in the leaves.
