Lakeview near Maricopa in Kern County, California — The American West (Pacific Coastal)
Reflection Pond
1996
This seasonal pond, the adjacent Native American site, and surrounding valley had been approved for a 500 acre toxic waste dump. As a result of The Wildlands Conservancy's 1996 acquistion the dump will never be built.
A toxic waste dump, superimposed on this magnificent landscape, gives us reason to reflect on our human endeavors.
