1. Mura Repubblicane Porta Romana / Republican Walls Porta Romana Marker
Inscription.
Mura Repubblicane Porta Romana, also, Republican Walls Roman Gate. L'area a servizio del fiume e il quartiere dei magazzini, also, Area serving the river and the warehouses. Le mura furono costruite intorno alla metΰ del I secolo a.C. e si estendevano su tre lati dell'abitato (racchiudendo un'area di ca. 69 ettari), mentre a nord la cittΰ si sviluppava anche sull'altro lato del fiume. Erano dotate di tre porte, fiancheggiate da torri quadrate. L'ingresso in cittΰ dalla Via Ostiense avveniva attraverso la Porta c.d. Romana, costituita da due vani, il cui livello originario era molto piω basso dell'attuale. La muratura in blocchi di tufo della porta era rivestita da una decorazione marmorea, ancora oggi in parte conservata. Sui lati frontali della porta, sull'attico, era posta la medesima iscrizione, che ricorda la costruzione delle mura; l'iscrizione era fiancheggiata dalle statue di Minerva-Vittoria alata, di cui rimane un originale conservato nel Museo Ostiense, mentre una copia θ presente nell'attiguo piazzale. , , The walls were built in around the mid-1st century BC and surrounded the town on three sides (enclosing an area of ca. 69 hectares), whilst to the north the city also developed on the other side of the river. There were three gates, flanked by square towers. The entrance to the city from the Via Ostiensis was through the gate so-called Porta Romana, consisting of two rooms that were originally at a much lower level than today. The gate was built of tufa blocks covered by a marble decoration that still survives in part. On either side of the gate, on the front of the attic, was an identical inscription commemorating the construction of the walls, flanked by statues of Minerva-winged Victory: one original statue survives and is in the Museo Ostiense whilst a copy can be seen in the adjacent square.

2. The Roman Gate
This gate was the entrance into the city walls when coming from Rome.
it is in Europe, the European Union, the Schengen Area, a coastal Mediterranean country, and the Western World. Historically, it finds itself in what was once the Roman Empire.
Excerpt: "The Porta Romana or Roman Gate belongs to the city walls of the first century BC. Visitors from Rome followed the Via Ostiensis and entered Ostia through this gate. It was excavated in 1911. The gate was at a much lower level than the present level. In the interior two rooms were created by large tufa blocks. Grooves for wooden doors were found on the east side (the outer side). On either side of the gate is a square tower, with sides of six metres."
