Inscription.

Sediamoci e pensiamoci sopra.

[English translation of Italian text:]
The Order of Architects of Rome, continuing its long sociocultural journey of recent years aimed at fully enhancing the professional work of architects, in conjunction with agreements with institutions and associations that promote the profession of architecture, has decided to improve the usability of the outdoor spaces managed by the Aquario Romano, in conjunction with the SPAM initiative, in collaboration with the Il Valore delle Idee Association, with the support of LABO Architects & Inventors.

Wars, catastrophes, and pandemics increasingly characterize our century. Global economies are increasingly tied to unpredictable and decidedly uncontrollable phenomena. In such a complex context, in a world that until a few months ago focused on globalization, economies of scale, and progress at all costs, today the world has come to a standstill.

its identity, its great history, a root with unstoppable potential, but instead of growing, today its precariousness is now well known. The handover between past and present is now interrupted. Present, synonymous with transition, must work to strengthen the connection between the two, enabling the transmission of identity, knowledge, and experiences into the future.

The cobblestone, an iconic object, represents this rupture between time, the fact that it is no longer contemporary, no longer suited to the passage of time. The action of the present is to find the transformation capable of maintaining its identity. Thus, from Sampietrino to SAMPIETRONE. It changes its intended use while maintaining its shape, color, and identity.

The transformation of concept makes the cobblestone usable in the present.

Let's sit down and think about it.
