1. Crystal Beach Waterfront Park Development Association - Marker

Inscription. Formed in 1992 by a community minded group to complete the breakwall and boat launch ramp at the waterfront park for the benefit of Fort Erie residents and the general public.

Made possible with the co-operation of the Town of Fort Erie, funding from Bingo revenue, Fort Erie Conservation Club, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 230 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Canadian Sportsmans Club of Fort Erie. This waterfront facility was opened in June 2000, transferred in February 2001 to be maintained, managed and operated by the town of Fort Erie in accordance with the terms of the land use agreement signed by both parties in May 1992.

Regarding Crystal Beach Waterfront Park Development Association. After Crystal Beach Amusement Park closed in the late 1980s, the land was re-developed. Much of it is now housing; but this marker describes that the land at the south-east corner of the property, with its existing breakwater, was enhanced and developed into this waterfront park with a public boat-ramp.
