You are standing in the Crystal Beach Park which includes several artifacts depicting marine heritage. As you look out over Lake Erie, this plaque will help you envision how the history of this area unfolded over the past millennia. While the uses of Crystal Beach's waterfront have changed over time, what has remained constant is our reliance on the lake for commerce and recreation.
Today, the lake continues to support commerce as Great Lake freighters can often be seen offshore. Even though the amusement park has been replaced by a residential development, the lake continues to be a recreational destination for tourists and residents alike.
