1. Lillie Gallman Jessie Marker

Inscription. Lillie Jessie is a nationally recognized author, award winning educator, and Occoquan Representative on the Prince William County School Board. In 1996, she received The Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award, NAACP Community Service Award, the Kathleen Seefeldt Community Service Award, and a PWC Baord of County Supervisors Commendation. In 2009, a new wing to Vaughan Elementary School was named in her honor for her twenty year tenure as Principal. She participated in the Martin Luther King civil rights marches and is founder of the MLK Youth Oratorical Contest, one of the largest in the nation. Her contributions are noted in the Northern Virginia Civil Rights Archives and the Library of Congress. She has received many more community service awards and has published numerous articles and anthologies.
