1. Ashley M. Guindon Marker
Inscription.
Ashley M. Guindon. Ashley Guindon's calling in life was to serve and protect. She arrived in Prince William County by way of New Hampshire, where she grew up, and Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics. As a 6-year Marine Reservist stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico, she engaged in aeronautical endeavors, assisted the Mortuary Affairs Office, and volunteered in the Suicide Prevention Program with warmth and compassion. She interned with the Prince William Police Department's Forensic Services Bureau in 2012 and the Special Victims Unit and graduated with honors from the Police Academy in 2015. Tragically, Ashley was shot and killed on her first day on the street on February 27, 2016 when she and two other officers responded to a domestic dispute. For Ashley's service to her country, her selfless service to others in her community, and her ultimate sacrifice to Prince William County, we honor this amazing young woman whose life was cut far too short.
