Inscription.
June Vail Park. . This 5.8-acre neighborhood park was originally dedicated on October 9, 1978 in honor of Mrs. June Vail. The dedication was designed to recognize Mrs. Vail's outstanding leadership, and volunteer service in the Spanish Trails Girl Scout Council and the Claremont Girl Scouts. Scout troop 573 planted a pine tree at the dedication. The neighborhood area surrounding June Vail Park was originally planned as equestrian land, but only the homes on Marlboro Court remain so today. Many of the neighbors at the time owned horses and requested that an equestrian training ring be incorporated into the design of the park. The final design took this need into account, and the city's only publicly owned equestrian ring is still located at the park. In addition to the ring, the park's amenities include a softball field, tot lot, and a soccer field. Park users include residents from the neighborhood as well as Western Christian School and soccer clubs.
