James A. Finley House. 413 West Sixth Street. Designed in the Minimal Traditional style, this home was constructed for James A. Finley who was the General Manager of the Exchange Orange Products (Sunkist) plant in Ontario. As a chemical engineer, Finley made significant contributions to the citrus industry with the development of many processes and products for the utilization of citrus fruit surplus that are still used today. This home is an outstanding representation of its style and reflects the period in history in which it was constructed. It possesses many features that were considered state-of-the-art such as a smudge control unit, an air conditioning unit for each level of the home and a built-in fireplace with a side cabinet used for storage of wood.
