Inscription.
Lois Oxnam was already an experienced ranch hand when she began working at Boot Ranch in 1953. At 4 ft. 11 in. and 87 lb, Lois had no problem wrestling scrub cattle, breaking horses and handling 2,200lb Brahman bulls; Al Boyd often referred to her as fearless. Lois managed Boot Ranch until 1972, when it was sold, then stayed on under the new owner to manage their horses.

[Caption:]
Lois was a skillful rider and won several rodeo championships with her favorite horse, Dixie.
