1. Captain Francisco Menendez Marker
Inscription. Stepping off the boat, you have finally made it to the bustling community of Fort Mose. Black men and women tend to their homes, prepare for battle and worship in their church. One figure stands out: your leader, Captain Francisco Menendez. He wears the uniform of the Spanish militia and carries a musket worn from years of battle. He is the embodiment of the freedom you have achieved at Fort Mose - and the struggle you face to keep it.
