1. Porcupine Mountains Marker

Inscription. On this site Raymond Dick and P.J. Hoffmaster, two men who loved these mountains, saw in them an opportunity to save something of of our vanishing wilderness heritage. As a result, the Porcupine Mountains were acquired in 1944 that they might forever be preserved as a forest museum and maintained as a Michigan State Park.
