Deluge is an Augmented Reality (AR) Installation which immerses visitors in the harrowing experience of the historic October 2015 flood that devastated Columbia, South Carolina. In this AR experience, users encounter a transparent house inundated with water, symbolizing the thousands of homes overwhelmed during the catastrophe. As visitors navigate the scene, they can hear authentic audio recordings of residents recounting their personal experiences, capturing the profound impact of the disaster that led to 19 fatalities statewide. This installation underscores the increasing frequency and severity of flooding events linked to climate change, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and preparedness in vulnerable communities.
