Location. 34° 55.11′ N, 85° 16.389′ W. Memorial is in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in Walker County. It can be reached from Dyer Road east of Chickamauga-Vittetoe Road when traveling west. This marker is located in the Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park along a park trail that crosses the Dry Road near coordinates (N 34.917 W 85.273). Park along the side of the road. Follow the path north. Pass the small Dyer cemetery, the marker will be just through the tree line on the east (right) side of the path. Touch for map. More about this memorial. This standard Indiana regimental marker, built in 1898, consists of a 4' x 4' x 4'8" high rock-faced oolitic stone block with a peaked top and a 12" x 18" bronze plaque affixed to its front. It marker the units location on September 19, 1863 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).
