Members of the Juan Bautista de Anza Expedition camped in this vicinity near Llagas Creek, March 24, 1776. The Anza Expedition led to the establishment of the Pueblo of San Josι de Guadalupe, Mission Santa Clara de Asis, Mission San Francisco de Asia, and the Presidio of San Francisco.

Access from unmarked trail heads on Santa Teresa Boulevard at northeast side of Llagas Creek bridge or from a footpath along west side of Woodlands Estates’ club house on Leisure Drive.
