Inscription.
"We are not secular in the sense that we are indifferent to religion. We are secular because we regard all religions as sacred. We believe in freedom of conscience. Each soul has the right to choose its own path."
- Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan

"A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new; when an age ends; and when the soul of a nation long suppressed finds utterance."
- Jawaharlal Nehru

The diverse, pluralistic society of modern India is home to seven major religions, fifteen major languages, and thousands of dialects. While a large percentage of society is rural, it is also one of the greatest producers of scientists and engineers in the world.

The Indian diaspora in America is over one million strong. They contribute to the social, cultural, and economic vitality of their adopted country and the world. Prominent Indian-Americans include musicians, scientists, political leaders, Nobel Prize winners, and business leaders.
