1. A Trail to Adventure Marker
Each state along the North Country National Scenic Trail offers visitors a realm of outdoor opportunities. In Northwestern Ohio, the Trail weaves through farmland along the Wabash Cannonball Trail. In the Oak Openings Preserve Metropark, it traverses oak savannas, wetlands, and premier birdwatching habitat. Then for over 900 miles, it shares corridor with the Buckeye Trail, offering a variety of natural wonders. Explore the foothills of Appalachia and view geological features such as Hocking Hills State Park, one of Ohio's most beloved landscapes. In Eastern Ohio, the Trail intersects many waterways, meandering along lakeshores and following historic towpaths. Marvel at the uniqueness of the Zoarville Station Bridge and explore historic trading routes near Beaver Creek State Park. An adventurous spirit is all you need to enjoy Ohio's section of the North Country National Scenic Trail.
