Inscription.
This handsome obelisk was erected by area citizens to honor Drs. George and William Craghead, among Danville's first and most beloved physicians.
 
Erected 2000 by Garden Club of Danville.

Erected by the citizens of Danville in commemoration of two brothers, G. Craghead, M.D. and Wm. G. Craghead, M.D. In professional skill, they had few equals, in active benevolence, no superiors.

7. Craghead Street
The Craghead brothers had an outsized influence on early Danville, and Craghead Street, the main thoroughfare in the Tobacco Warehouse Residential Historic District, is named in their honor.
