1. Pontiac's Conspiracy Marker

Inscription. On the site of Palermo, three miles east of here, according to tradition George Croghan, Deputy Supt. of Indian Affairs, met the Ottowa Chief Pontiac in July, 1765, and made preliminary arragements for the peace which ended the Indian uprising known as Pontiac's Conspiracy. Shortly afterward the treaty was concluded at Fort Quiatenon (LaFayette, Indiana).

Erected 1935 by State of Illinois.
