Acorn bread....probably not what you had for supper last night, but years ago it was a common food for many Plains Indians. They made it by boiling, roasting, and grinding the oak tree's acorns into flour and then adding other ingredients.
Acorns are also eaten by many birds and mammals including many songbirds, grouse, prairie chickens, quail, wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, [text missing], raccoons, foxes, [text missing], skunks.
