Inscription.
The ancient volcanic cone of Point Dume was once used as sacred space by the native Chumash. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, sailing ships used it as a critical landmark to avoid nearby submerged rocks.

Today this site is used by the filming industry, surfers and beach enthusiasts from around the world. By taking a few extra steps to an approved trail, all visitors can show their respect for this much-loved place.

Pacific Ocean. The point, a long bluff, forms the northern end of Santa Monica Bay. Several films and TV shows have been filmed in the area.
