Inscription.  
De straat is vernoemd naar de watergang De Krommert, een brede sloot die liep van de Kostverlorenvaart naar de Molensloot, later omgedoopt tot Admiralengracht. In 1959 werd de Krommert gedempt en op het landje werd o.a. een speeltuin aangelegd. Op de foto bloemisterijen en tuinderijen bij de Krommert (later de Cornelis Dirkszstraat) met achteraan de Admiraal de Ruyterweg.

(English translation:)
The street is named after the waterway De Krommert, a wide ditch that ran from the Kostverlorenvaart to the Molensloot, later renamed Admiralengracht. In 1959, the Krommert was filled in, and a playground, among other things, was built on the land. The photo shows flower shops and market gardens near the Krommert (later the Cornelis Dirkszstraat) with the Admiraal de Ruyterweg in the background.
