1. Upper Canada Heritage Trail - Marker
Inscription. This multi-use trail follows the old Erie and Ontario Railway line. The railway was constructed in 1854 and connected the Town of Niagara with Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and beyond to Buffalo. Eventually the line became part of the Michigan Central Railroad system. The rail line was abandoned in the late 1950's. The photo shows the train bridge over Delater St. as the track goes down to the dock area. The trail follows the rail line from here, John Street along Concession 1 and ends at York Road. Enjoy the trail as it winds along vineyards and orchards.
