Inscription.  
En 1919 est fondé en ses murs le conseil central des syndicats nationaux de l’Outaouais.
La confédération des travailleurs catholiques du Canada (CTCC-CSN), fondé à Hull en 1921, y tient également de nombreuses assemblées.
De 1921 à 1924, la CTCC compte dans ses rangs le syndicat des faiseuses d’allumettes de la compagnie E. B. Eddy, le premier syndicat féminin au Canada.
À force de courage et d’engagement, en 1914, les allumettières contribuent à l’interdiction de l’utilisation du phosphore blanc, un poison mortel utilise dans la fabrication des allumettes au Canada.
L’histoire se souvient d’elles et des nombreux autres travailleurs et travailleuses qui ont contribué à l’essor économique de l’Outaouais.

The Confederation of Catholic Workers of Canada (CTCC-CSN), founded in Hull in 1921, also holds many assemblies there.

Through courage and commitment, in 1914, the match factory workers contributed to the ban on the use of white phosphorus, a deadly poison used in match manufacturing in Canada.
History remembers them and the many other workers who contributed to the economic development of Outaouais.

Excerpt : Le conseil central a été fondé en Outaouais en 1919 par l’association ouvrière de Hull. Le conseil central des syndicats nationaux de l’Outaouais ne regroupait à ce moment-là que 5 sections syndicales. Deux ans plus tard, le CCSNO–CSN ainsi que ceux du Saguenay Lac-St-Jean, de Québec, de Sherbrooke, de St-Hyacinthe et de Montréal participèrent à la fondation de la CTCC à Hull.

Le CCSNO célèbrera c’est 100 ans d’existence en 2019, de la lutte des allumetières en 1921, à la grève des professeures et professeurs de l’université du Québec en Outaouais en 2018. Le CCSNO–CSN c’est lié au travailleuses et travailleurs de la région afin d’organiser la solidarité.

In 1919, the Central Council of National Unions of Outaouais was founded here.
regroupe plus de 11 000 travailleuses et travailleurs répartis dans quelques 70 syndicats affiliés, provenant de 8 fédérations qui couvrent l’ensemble des secteurs d’activité de la région.

[English translation] Central Council of National Unions of Outaouais-CSN
The central council was founded in Outaouais in 1919 by the Hull workers' association. At that time, the Central Council of National Unions of Outaouais only included 5 union sections. Two years later, the CCSNO–CSN as well as those from Saguenay Lac-St-Jean, Quebec, Sherbrooke, St-Hyacinthe, and Montreal participated in the founding of the CTCC in Hull.

In 2019, the CCSNO celebrated 100 years of existence, from the matchstick workers' struggle in 1921 to the University of Quebec in Outaouais professors' strike in 2018. The CCSNO–CSN is connected to the workers of the region to organize solidarity.

Today, the CCSNO–CSN brings together more than 11,000 workers spread across some 70 affiliated unions, coming from 8 federations that cover all sectors of activity in the region.
