Jacob van Wassenaer Obdam 1610-1665

Hij was luitenant-admiraal en generaal van de Verenigde Nederlanden. Als Maarten Tromp sterft, in 1653 tijdens de slag bij ver Heijde in de buurt van Scheveningen, wordt hij vlootvoogd. Hij beschermt de belangrijke handel met de landen aan de Oostzee.

(Jacob van Wassenaer Obdam was a lieutenant-admiral and general of the United Netherlands. When Maarten Tromp died in 1653 during the Battle of Scheveningen, he became fleet commander. He protected the vital trade with the Baltic states.)
