Inscription. AQUAMAN Splashdown began its life as Yankee Clipper when it opened on May 29, 1976, as one of the park's original Arrow Development flume attractions. Intertwined with its sister flume Logger's Run, the ride became a familiar staple of the Yankee Harbor area for decades. In 2001, it briefly adopted a new identity as Ice Mountain Splash, before eventually returning to its Yankee Clipper theme.

In 2022, Six Flags announced a major re-theme: Yankee Harbor would become part of the new DC Universe section, and Yankee Clipper would be transformed into AQUAMAN Splashdown. The ride reopened under its new branding featuring refreshed colors and a modernized theme while retaining its classic shoot-the-chutes flume experience.
