1. Welcome to Weston's unique Village Green Marker
It was created in 1886 from citizen Oliver Farrar's frog pond by nine women residents of Weston whose purpose was "establishing and maintaining a public park in the town of Weston". They formed The Farrar Park Association which was incorporated by the Vermont General Assembly, and the land was deeded to the nine charter members.
More than a century later, the park is still maintained by nine women Trustees whose purpose is to follow their forebears and maintain a place of beauty and tranquility for the enjoyment of the public at Weston's town center. Please enjoy its restfulness (in the absence of noisy games,) and respect its long history as a place of peace.
