Inscription. This sandstone from the Big Horn Basin is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Dewitt Dominick. It honors the lifetime work of Dr. Dominick with the Indian people of the west and his dedication as a Trustee of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.

Archaeologists have interpreted linear grooves as abraded surfaces where bone or wooded tools (such as spears or digging sticks) may have been sharpened by prehistoric Indian inhabitants.

This is a photograph of the grinding rock in the left foreground as it appeared in its natural setting. It was moved to Cody with the assistance and guidance of the Bureau of Land Management and their department of Archaeology.
