1. The Wagon House Marker

Inscription. The 1876 Beers Atlas of Lehigh County shows a wagon house on this site, though when it was built is unknown. Recent ground penetrating radar surveys have confirmed its location and general dimensions. This survey data revealed that the foundation is intact and is comprised of a series of parallel walls running north to south. This indicates that the Wagon House was most likely a heavy wood-framed structure similar to known historic examples of this area. Future historic archaeology will reveal when it was built, what it looked like, and how it was used on the farm that operated here in the 19th century.

The wagon house here may have been similar to one surveyed and recorded at the Dundore Farm in Berks County. The drawing above was made from those measurements for the Historic American Building Survey in 1976.
