1. Employee Service Recognition Marker

Inscription. Chesterfield County recognizes employees who have dedicated 25-plus years of service to the county. Since 2007, engraved bricks have been placed on the walkway outside the Historic 1917 Courthouse to commemorate the longstanding commitments and contributions of these individuals, highlighting their essential roles in the county's history.

The walkway pictured stands as a tribute to the many employees who have devoted their careers to public service for 25-plus years. The bricks are arranged chronologically based on retirement dates, with the first brick located at the top left corner of the walkway.

The Walk of Honor is the small brick plaza in front of the courthouse. The marker describing employee recognition is visible at right where the walkway branches off towards the Confederate Memorial and east Courthouse Square.
