Ark Post Office
Winston County
Established on November 11, 1881, the Ark Post Office served this area along the Byler Road and operated for less than 10 years, when the Haleysville Post Office took over mail service on March 5, 1891 Located on a route between the Mount Hope and Larissa post offices. Ark Post Office delivered mail twice a week. William R. Long served as the first postmaster. Also known as Long's Mills Post Office, the Ark Post Office was located in the community of Ward's Mill, which is now part of Haleyville.

Rocky Ravine Park
Winston County
Located above a deep sandstone canyon along the Byler Road, Rocky Ravine Park opened in 1927 in the area known as Hughes City, which later annexed into Haleyville. Civic clubs worked with the city through the decades to maintain the park. The Lions Club provided the upkeep to the park in the 1930s and 1940s, with the Haleyville Garden Club adopting the park as its project in 1955, along with the American Legion Auxiliary. The Haleyville Garden Club held a contest in 1962 to rename the park, which was then called Haleyville
