Prince Rupert in North Coast, British Columbia — Canadas West Coast (North America)
Mother Grey Whale and Calf
Hans Siniarski and his wife Naida, the designers and sculptors, donated the statue to the City of Prince Rupert for the 75th anniversary celebrations in 1985. Hans constructed the statue using donations from local citizens and businesses. However, before it was completed, Hans passed away and the statue remained in storage until 1998 when it finally found a home as part of the Rotary Waterfront Park.
As a donation to the Waterfront Park Mont-Leon Masonry refurbished the statue, and the city installed it in its present location.
