Only weeks before mega-star Taylor Swift released her album "1989"…
…award-winning Penguin Coast opened. Its state-of-the-art design reflected a revolution in the way zoo spaces can address the wellbeing of guests and staff, as well as the Zoo residents.

Wildlife conservation is complex, and it requires collaboration across fields and even across borders. To ensure a future for African penguins, the Zoo became a founding member of NAMCOB, a non-governmental organization working to monitor and protect African penguin colonies in Namibia.
