The Jones Falls was a source of fish and drinking water for Indigenous people and for early settlers. The stream also supported water-powered industries as Baltimore grew.
Human activities polluted the stream over time, but many local residents today are working to clean up the Jones Falls. The recent return of fish like trout and eels show that their efforts are making a difference for this natural treasure.
