Inscription.
The figures on this reproduction of a Haida Skedans Pole represent the background of the person who had amassed sufficient property to have the house erected. The figures are crest symbols of his family and together with oral traditions explain part of his lineage’s history. Figures on this pole (from bottom) are bear mother with two cubs, head of killer whale which is also sea grizzly with seal in mouth, killer whale with woman on its back and man with two watchmen.
